Mom sent you out for groceries. Simple, right?

By the time you get there, the store is closing. The doors lock behind you, most of the lights are off, and the aisles stretch into the dark. You’re not alone in here. Shoppers drift between the shelves with their carts, quiet and slow, and they turn to watch you as you pass. And somewhere in the store is the Locust: a tall, black, lanky thing with no eyes.

It can’t see you. It can hear you.

Grab everything on mom’s list, find a way out, and keep your mouth shut.

HOW IT WORKS

Get mom’s list. Search a huge, dim supermarket for every item on your shopping list.

Stay quiet. Sprinting is loud. Sneaking is quiet. Standing still is silent, so the Locust will walk right past you. Run out of breath and you’ll pant. Bump an abandoned cart and the whole store hears it.

Listen. Its heavy footsteps and breathing carry through the aisles. If you hear them getting closer, freeze.

Find the way out. The front doors won’t open. Find the staff access card (try customer service), unlock the STAFF ONLY door and survive the final run through the back rooms to the loading dock.

When the lights go out, stay still. The power fails. Your flashlight helps, but it doesn’t like being near it.
